Mouthwashing Achievements: All 18 Unlocks and 100% Guide

Mouthwashing achievements reward the details you can easily walk past aboard the Tulpar: employee cards, a strange drawing, and interactions that go beyond your immediate objective. The Steam version has 18 achievements, with chapter select available for cleaning up anything you miss. Play through the story blind if you want its surprises intact, then use the locations, combinations, and console instructions below to finish your collection.

Spoilers ahead: this walkthrough covers late-game locations, character encounters, and the graveyard sequence.

Story Achievements

Two unlocks come from starting and finishing the game. Neither needs a separate collectible or optional interaction.

Everything else involves an action beyond simply reaching the credits. Keep an eye out for employee cards during exploration, and handle the optional recipes and keypad challenges before completing their related objectives.

All Five Employee Card Locations

Each crew member has an employee card tied to an achievement. The table follows their collection order, with chapter numbers to help you find the right scene during cleanup.

Look for Anya’s card before leaving the opening cockpit scene. Later, check the vending machine while Swansea has the axe, and inspect the coffee table when you return to check on Curly.

During the cocktail objective, collect Jimmy’s card before getting absorbed in mixing ingredients. For Curly’s card, visit Utility during the Chapter 19 gun objective and look beside the active pod.

Optional Interactions, Recipes, and Codes

These seven unlocks depend on inspecting something specific, using an item, or completing an objective in a particular order.

Yimpy	Look at the YIMPY drawing in the medical bay for 10 seconds.
Friendly Introduction	Find Curly hiding among the shelves beyond the TV in the dark storage sequence.
Wasteful	Make a mocktail before making the birthday cake.
Sock Puppet	Repeatedly open and close Curly’s mouth during a pain-medication interaction.
The Name Of The Game	Use a bottle of mouthwash from your inventory.
Taking Notes	Open the gun case with 739 without returning to the Cockpit during that chapter.

Cheater and Taking Notes: Enter the Codes Directly

For Cheater, head to the Cargo door in Chapter 2 and enter 4517 before picking up the scanner. The order matters: opening the door after collecting the scanner does not satisfy the condition.

For Taking Notes, enter 739 on the gun case during Chapter 19 without visiting the Cockpit in that chapter. You can read and record the combination earlier in the game, but the unlock depends on opening the case without making that return trip.

Wasteful: Make the Drink Before the Cake

During the Chapter 7 birthday party, use the nutrition pouch dispenser to collect these ingredients:

• Water: 3142
• Tonic: 1324
• Sweetener: 2341

Combine water and tonic first to create the drink base. Then combine that base with sweetener to finish the mocktail. Do this before preparing the birthday cake.

Yimpy and Friendly Introduction: Look Beyond the Objective

For Yimpy, inspect the medical bay’s corkboard after Curly’s psychological evaluation. Find the sticky note with the face labeled “YIMPY,” move close, and zoom in on it for at least 10 seconds.

For Friendly Introduction, continue past the television in the dark storage sequence. Follow the shelves and look through their gaps for Curly. Expect a loud noise when you spot him.

Sock Puppet and The Name Of The Game: Use the Interaction

When you are prompted to give Curly pain medicine, repeatedly open and close his mouth for Sock Puppet instead of immediately finishing the task.

For The Name Of The Game, select and use a mouthwash bottle from your inventory while you have one available. Do this before consuming it as a cocktail ingredient; simply carrying the bottle is not the required action.

Graveyard Achievements

Both graveyard unlocks involve Swansea during Bizarro Chapter 1. One rewards a successful shot after a full turn; the other requires repeated deaths.

Achievement	How to unlock
Trickshot	Shoot Swansea immediately after turning a full 360 degrees.
The Good Ending	Get killed by Swansea 10 times in the graveyard.

For Trickshot, stand near a corner to narrow the directions you need to watch. Leave yourself room to complete a full rotation, then aim and shoot Swansea immediately afterward. You still need to aim down sights to fire.

Try a higher mouse sensitivity if completing the spin leaves you too little time to line up the shot.

Work on Trickshot before deliberately collecting deaths. Failed attempts can contribute toward The Good Ending. If you land the shot before reaching 10 deaths, let Swansea kill you until the second achievement unlocks.

Developer Console and Any% Glitched

The console has its own achievement and provides the cheats used for the timed mouthwash challenge.

Achievement	How to unlock
Developer	Open the developer console.
Any% Glitched	Take the mouthwash bottle from Polle within 35 seconds of starting Chapter 14.

Enable the Developer Console

Try pressing the tilde/grave key to open the console. If it does not open:

1. In Steam, right-click Mouthwashing.
2. Choose Manage → Browse local files.
3. Open LaunchOptions.dat in a text editor.
4. Change ConsoleEnabled = false to ConsoleEnabled = true.
5. Save the file, launch the game, and press the tilde/grave key.

Open the console from the main menu when setting up the timed challenge. Opening it also earns Developer.

Complete the 35-Second Challenge

Use the Chapter 13 transition to prepare for the start of Chapter 14:

1. Enable cheats through the developer console at the main menu, then load Chapter 13.
2. Press N to skip the chapter while holding P to advance through Chapter 14’s dialogue.
3. When you can leave the conversation with Daisuke, right-click, look down, and press Tab to open your inventory.
4. Turn on the Code Scanner, close the inventory, and press O to enable noclip.
5. Move through the floor, press O again to disable noclip, and hold Shift while falling toward the stairs.
6. After reaching the stairs and triggering the message, enable noclip, move slightly left, then disable it and fall again while holding Shift.
7. After the next message appears and you reach the ground, enable noclip again.
8. Hold Shift, move straight ahead to Polle, and take the mouthwash bottle.

The achievement notification can be delayed. After a fast attempt, check your achievement list before immediately repeating the route. If it still has not appeared, try closing and reopening the game, then check again.

100% Completion Order

1. Finish the story. Collect the employee cards and optional interactions along the way, or leave them for chapter select if you want an uninterrupted first playthrough.
2. Clean up the cards and interaction achievements. Pay particular attention to Cheater, Wasteful, and Taking Notes, since their conditions depend on what you do before another objective.
3. Replay the graveyard. Attempt Trickshot, then finish any remaining deaths needed for The Good Ending.
4. Open the developer console. Enable it through LaunchOptions.dat if necessary to earn Developer.
5. Practice the Chapter 13-to-14 route. Finish Any% Glitched by reaching Polle’s bottle within the 35-second limit, then check your achievement list for any remaining unlocks.
